The passage of time silently layers each ring within,
gently beholding all I have loved and seen, while endlessly expanding.
Tree rings are a specimen of time—yet they never cease to grow, both inward and outward.
The strokes of time quietly etch themselves into each contour of wood grain,
drawing inward to form rings that mark the passage of years—
layer upon layer, telling stories without words.
Within each ring, the flavors of the seasons are sealed—
accumulated in silence,
building the very core of who we are.
They become the unseen strength of our growth,
always circling the center,
gently pushing us outward—wider, stronger, more expansive.
In 2024’s moonquake, we looked outward—into the brilliance of the cosmos.
In 2025’s Behold, we return to earth—to grounded stillness.
Rooted, yet always flowing, always reaching.
Through writing, we store memory—
just as tree rings bear witness to the passing of time.
From this very ring, we trace all that has grown and gathered over time.
And one day, when we pause to look back,
we will be able to quietly admire the richness and wholeness we’ve become.

The 2025 visual theme—tree rings—symbolizes the engraving of life.
In collaboration with Ri Xing Type Foundry, we created a custom lead type for the character 「吉」,
a symbol of blessing and good fortune.
We hope this small gesture carries with it a sense of tradition, craftsmanship, and heartfelt warmth.
Ri Xing Type Foundry
Established in 1969, Ri Xing Type Foundry is the last remaining type foundry in Taiwan.
Guided by the spirit of “reviving, cherishing, and practicing traditional characters,”
Ri Xing continues to cast small, leaden type—heavy in the hand and glinting with history—
preserving the cultural memory and emotional depth of Taiwan’s letterpress legacy.
The true charm of letterpress lies in its process—
from casting and sorting type to manual layout and printing,
every step is imbued with craftsmanship and human connection.
Each imperfection, each worn edge, gives printed words a unique warmth and weight—
a tangible reminder of the hands and heritage behind every impression.
